Good climate

Spain is a very sunny country, with an average of more than 300 days of sun per year. It has five different weather conditions:

  • The Mediterranean climate, which is characterized by hot summers and mild winters; it's ideal for growing crops such as olives and grapes.
  • The Continental climate, where it rains most often in spring and autumn; this is the type of weather you will find in Madrid.
  • The Oceanic climate, which brings cool winters but warm summers; you can find this kind of climate in Valencia or the Balearic Islands like Majorca or Ibiza.
  • The Subtropical (Mediterranean), which has hot summers but cool winters - perfect for people who love heat! This kind of weather also brings rain every now and then to give you some fresh air!

Finally, there is also a special mountain-top area called La Sierra de la Demanda that rarely gets any rain at all throughout the year because it's surrounded by high peaks that block out moisture from reaching down into its valleys while still allowing plenty sunshine through its openings between these mountains so that plants can grow without being too thirsty!
